In compliance with the Alberta Fire Code, The City of Calgary requires any new building to install one of two City of Calgary-approved products:
Lock boxes provide emergency responders quick access to a building or business. Lock boxes need to be installed on the exterior wall of the building within close proximity to the main entrance. They must contain all keys or devices required to access the building, including an entrance door key. All keys and devices must be attached to a key ring and their use indicated by an attached tag.
The Calgary Fire Department maintains a list of approved lock box service companies. Aura Lock & Key (Barlow Lock & Key) is an approved vendor. If you experience problems with your lock box or installation, please contact the company who was responsible for the work.
